Boundary Element Analysis of Buckling Analysis of Plates and Shells

This chapter presents a methodology based on the Boundary Element Method for buckling analysis of shear deformables plates and shells. This formulation is based on the plate and shell equations presented in previous chapters. The buckling equations are established from the initial deflection calculation, and the generalized forces acting on the plate are calculated in the linear elastic problem. Thus, the buckling problem is established as a standard eigenvalue and eigenvector problem by reorganizing the plate equations.
