In this study, I examine the intricate relationship between the sacred and the virtual. The sacred, as I define it, is a space of human-divine encounter—a space where liturgy unfolds, where the collective faithful gather in communion with the divine, and where mediation occurs between the profane and the holy. While I draw a clear distinction between the sacred and the holy, I also emphasize their inseparable interplay. The sacred requires activation through consecration, yet it remains fundamentally dependent on the divine rather than the human. It is through rite that the sacred is brought into being and made present in the world.
