Reception problems and “black listening” now became a dominant factor affecting Nazi broadcasting. There was an increased danger posed by enemy stations with fronts closing in and with the loss of German transmitters. The role here of Radio Luxembourg and the “black” enemy stations purporting to be transmitting from within the Reich is described. Attention is also drawn to Swiss stations. The growing distrust in Nazi radio was a prime factor in enhancing the success of enemy/neutral broadcasting. The entire situation deteriorated rapidly in 1945 due to the loss of sets with the devastating air-raids. Reception was increasingly subject to power outages and the consequences of the loss of stations and transmitters with the Soviet advances into Reich territory in early 1945.
