This paper outlines a comprehensive idea to transform urban areas into smart learning cities, leveraging innovative technologies to enhance education, innovation, and lifelong learning for all. Our research, based on a survey of 937 students at a large R1 Hispanic-Serving Institution in the southeastern United States, provides crucial insights into the attitudes and perceptions of the next generation of urban dwellers and innovators. By integrating students’ perspectives on technological devices, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and big data analytics, we show how students interacting with technology can help city planners create a more connected, knowledgeable, and adaptable urban environment that centers a sustainable future.
