Aquaculture has become increasingly important to humankind’s aquatic food supply. Aquaculture output has grown at an exponential rate, surpassing both the production of meat from terrestrial farms and landings from capture fisheries to become the fastest-growing food production business in several nations. Aquaculture has been promoted for millennia in many developing nations, including Asia and Africa, to provide rural inhabitants with a means of improving their standard of living and escaping poverty. Aquaculture is one of the quickest ways for the underprivileged to make a livelihood, acts as a vital source of foreign exchange for the growth of the country and has gradually become an essential component of rural livelihoods as a means of addressing issues such as increasing population pressures, environmental degradation or lack of access and declining wild fisheries harvests. Between 2004 and 2011, aquaculture grew at a pace of over 2.5 million tonnes per year, whereas the worldwide wild catch decreased at a rate of more than 0.5 million tonnes annually. Due to the amplification of aquaculture, there is now a greater need for wide-open waters for the mass production of fish-based feedstuff components (fish oil and fish meal); additional agricultural land located far from the site of farm for the production of feed components derived from crops and other energy aspects such as (pumps, infrastructure, aeration) and suitable land that may be used for preserving quality of ponds. All things considered, intensification may decrease freshwater use while escalating some environmental issues including eutrophication, acidification and freshwater environmental toxicity.
