This paper presents an IoT-based smart irrigation system aimed at optimizing water usage in agriculture through real-time soil moisture monitoring and automated irrigation control. The system uses an ESP8266, soil moisture sensors, a water pump, and a relay module to manage irrigation based on predefined moisture thresholds. The system sends data to the Blynk platform for remote monitoring and control, activating irrigation and triggering email alerts. The system significantly reduces water consumption and manual intervention, offering a scalable, cost-effective solution for small farms. The ESP8266 may be monitored and controlled remotely via laptop or smartphone via wireless networking with the help of Blynk Application. A power supply keeps everything running. This smart irrigation system saves water, needs less manual intervention, and maintains plant-friendly soil. Its IoT-based scalability and flexibility make it a fantastic water management solution for agricultural or home gardening applications.
