Evaluating Health, Safety, and Well-Being Within Interior Spaces from an Urban Sustainable Perspective

Architecture and interior spaces affect mental health and psychological well-being. The living pattern of people in metro cities with crowded environments creates unhealthy and non-sustainable approaches to human living. The space designed and planned with sustainable solutions allows an individual to live a healthy lifestyle, build safe living habits, and be less affected by unhealthy environments. Metropolitan cities are densely populated and get affected easily if a pandemic situation arises, this kind of situation has brought many changes in the living patterns of society, and they have started adopting different lifestyles, working patterns, travel modes, and personal preferences which leads to multiple changes. It has become a serious concern to be addressed by societies considering health and well-being. Therefore, sustainable measures should be adopted for designing indoor spaces. In this study understand the issue further exploratory subjective response and linked scale research was conducted to analyze data collected from the structured questionnaire survey. Convenient sampling techniques are used, and the target population includes professionals in design, architecture fields, and homemakers. The findings between indoor environment quality preference and sociodemographic categorical variables are analyzed using the Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) showing p-value cluster analysis method. Research results into simple ways of sustainable measures adapted to living standards can improve indoor health, safety, and environmental quality.
