Autologous fat grafting is used to augment areas of the body, breast, and face. Fat grafting is a very effective option for volume replacement and soft tissue augmentation with few side effects for the patient. The technique has sparked the creation of several options for fat collection, processing, and preparation of donor and recipient sites. The technique is used for primary or secondary breast augmentation to substitute a silicone implant or complement its result. Until recently, there wasn’t much proof whether one harvesting and processing method, like centrifugation, filtration, and decantation, was better than the other. There are strong opinions as to which method is best. After testing all different methods, we show our preferred manner for achieving consistent results.
