This study proposes an allocation model to analyse the levels of access to cardiology services at a national level in Italy. Using an allocation algorithm implemented in R, the model considers demand from municipalities with a population over 65, available hospital facilities and transport distances. The results show how the model can provide detailed information on the distribution of demand in relation to distances, helping to improve accessibility to healthcare services. The analysis emphasises the importance of optimising patient flows and provides recommendations for the planning of healthcare resources.

摘要

This study proposes an allocation model to analyse the levels of access to cardiology services at a national level in Italy. Using an allocation algorithm implemented in R, the model considers demand from municipalities with a population over 65, available hospital facilities and transport distances. The results show how the model can provide detailed information on the distribution of demand in relation to distances, helping to improve accessibility to healthcare services. The analysis emphasises the importance of optimising patient flows and provides recommendations for the planning of healthcare resources.
