With the aging of the global population, the elderly face numerous challenges related to travel safety, particularly in terms of driving abilities. In recent years, the rapid development of intelligent driving technology has provided new feasible solutions to this problem. This study seeks to identify the primary factors that affect the acceptance of intelligent driving behavior among the near-elderly group (ages 55–64). It extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating two new variables: perceived risk and trust in technology, to better align with the characteristics of this group. The research results indicate that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have significant positive effects on behavioral intention, while perceived risk has a significant negative effect. Additionally, trust in technology has significant positive effects on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, and a significant negative effect on perceived risk. This study approaches the issue from the specific perspective of the near-elderly group (ages 55–64), considering their physical and cognitive declines, and proposes an intelligent driving technology acceptance model tailored for this group. The study investigates the factors influencing their acceptance of intelligent driving behavior and provides theoretical support for the design of age-friendly intelligent driving technology.
