This study explores the role of new media in elderly health communication from the perspective of "active aging" and proposes an age-friendly health communication model. With the rapid development of information technology, an increasing number of older adults rely on new media to access health information. However, challenges such as low health literacy, the digital divide, and social isolation hinder their effective use of these platforms for health management. This study first examines the mechanisms of health information dissemination in new media, including user behavior analysis and personalized content recommendations, to understand how older adults acquire information. Secondly, it investigates the psychological cognitive mechanisms underlying health information processing and integrates the Health Belief Model and the Extended Parallel Process Model to construct an age-friendly health communication framework. Additionally, this study highlights the moderating role of social support in health information acceptance and proposes collaborative strategies among families, communities, healthcare institutions, and governments to optimize the health communication environment. Findings indicate that social support enhances older adults' acceptance of health information, reduces fear, and improves their adherence to healthy behaviors. This study provides theoretical insights into elderly health communication in the digital era and offers policy and platform design recommendations to improve digital health literacy and social inclusion for aging populations.
