Cosmetic Surgical Procedures with Penile Prosthesis Implantation: Complications Management
摘要
Optimal tubing length from the cylinders to the pump in penile implant surgery is crucial for ensuring functional success, patient comfort, and satisfaction. Proper tubing length allows for accurate positioning of the pump in a midline, posterior, and dependent position, where it is easy to locate and operate, reducing patient discomfort and the likelihood of mechanical complications. Excessively long or short tubing can lead to complications such as anterior or posterior buckling, where the tubing creates friction points, migrates, or causes the pump to shift from its ideal location. Buckling tubing can also make the pump more visible, which some patients find aesthetically concerning.
