Male urinary incontinence is a distressing condition that significantly affects patients’ quality of life. Nowadays, many patients are able to gain greater control over their urinary functions thanks to the development of various surgical implantation procedures. These procedures, however, are not without risks and potential complications. Surgical options for male urinary incontinence primarily include the implantation of an artificial urinary sphincter (AUS), non-circumferential compression device (ProACT®), and male sling procedures. Effective risk mitigation strategies and thorough complication prevention measures are crucial for ensuring successful outcomes and enhancing patient safety.
