Satellite technology has revolutionized communications worldwide. Most developed countries have long used the transmission of information via satellite. Mexico is no exception, as in 1968, with its integration into the INTELSAT consortium, the race to manage this technology began. However, since then, investments have been made, such as the Morelos I and II, Solidaridad 1 and 2, and SATMEX and MEXSAT satellites, solely for their use without influencing their design, manufacture, or control in space. Due to the above, in the 1990s, an initiative was presented by the National Autonomous University of Mexico through the PUIDE program, in which the efforts of Mexican students were added to the creation of the first satellite developed in Mexican territory UNAMSAT. From that moment, the opportunity and concern arose to continue working on other projects (KuauhtliSat, K’ OTO, AzTechSat-1, etc.) to achieve, as a country, our own satellite technology and protection of national sovereignty.
