This chapter will explore the main threats that hedge fund ownership may pose to media management in the newspaper industry. The core assumption is that when the motivation of newspaper owners shifts from prioritizing journalism quality to profit-driven objectives, the role of media management needs to be redefined, and management conflicts increase beyond those that already existed during public ownership.
