Eighty percent of neonatal seizures occur within the first week of life, regardless of gestational age at birth. Seizures are higher in preterm infants due to the increased risk of hypoxia, infection, and intracranial hemorrhage. This chapter will discuss clinical manifestations of seizures, etiologies, and time frame of occurrence.
