The social and economic effects of peri-urbanization in Goderich, Sierra Leone, are examined in this detailed analysis of infrastructure, jobs, and land values. While a larger pie is promised, rising land prices are forcing low-income tenants out, straining already overburdened facilities. Moving from agriculture to unorganized services has pros and cons, but it always threatens the status quo. Fair infrastructure, responsible land use, and affordable housing are central to the discussion. This paper analyzes these peri-urban dynamics in today’s challenging context and suggests strategies for creating sustainable growth hubs in developing nations.
