Features of Spatial Development of Municipalities (Case Study of the Republic of Tatarstan)
摘要
Each region has its own peculiarities of spatial development. All regions develop unevenly. Balanced spatial development of a region is an important factor in regional competitiveness. This study is devoted to the analysis of the features of spatial development in the Republic of Tatarstan. The authors analyzed socio-demographic and economic indicators of individual municipalities in the republic. A scoring system was used to evaluate key development indicators of municipalities. These indicators reflect such components of regional development as socio-demographic sphere, production, infrastructure, financial activity, and investments. Based on the evaluation of individual indicators, an integral assessment of the development level of municipal districts was provided. A grouping of districts based on the integral assessment was conducted. The spatial distribution of municipalities in the Republic of Tatarstan by the level of socio-economic development was analyzed. Certain patterns of spatial development of municipalities in the republic were identified. The most developed districts are located in the northwest of the republic, in the Kazan region, and in the east. The majority of districts fall into the middle group, indicating a generally balanced spatial development of the Republic of Tatarstan. There are no openly crisis-ridden or depressed municipalities in the republic. A number of districts with high production indicators lag behind in socio-demographic indicators. This indicates the presence of certain problems that need to be addressed in the future.
