The blue economy is a concept that promotes the sustainability and sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth, improved livelihoods, jobs while preserving ocean ecosystem health, is a crucial step and critical area of global sustainability efforts. This study explored synergies between blockchain technology and artificial intelligent (AI) in improving sustainability within the blue economy. The Blockchain technology with its inherent qualities of transparency, immutability, and decentralised nature, has potential to address major issues of traceability and accountability in marine industries. Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the other hand enhances data analysis and predictive models, decision making processes that can optimise resources management and mitigate environmental degradation. This Combination of these technologies could enable real-time monitoring of oceanic conditions improve the traceability of sustainable of seafood and sea-products, reduce illegal fishing and support carbon footprint reduction in maritime transportation. Few key case studies and real world applications of blockchain and AI in blue economy has been examined, including the use of blockchain for certifying sustainable seafood (e.g., “Fishcoin” initiative), AI applications in predicating fish populations and addressing marine pollution. Analysis of blockchain and AI in the blue economy is not only important for advancing sustainability but also for promoting a more equitable distribution of ocean resources, empowering stakeh9lders and protecting biodiversity for future generations. By providing a detailed analysis of these technologies roles in marine sustainability, this chapter aims to contribute to ongoing discourse on integrating digital innovation into environmental governance and policies.

摘要
