Empowering the Blue Economy: The Role of FinTech in Green Investment Solutions
摘要
The chapter aims to highlight and explain the supporting role of the FinTech industry in issuing green financial instruments to sustain oceans, seas, and marine resources. The goal is also to show good practices for better education and encouragement to act. Currently, the aquatic environment is in the worst situation ever. That is why intensifying activities for sustainability is necessary. Standard solutions are no longer sufficient, and there is an urgent need for targeted and tailored financial instruments supported by advanced technology. There is still a gap between knowledge and implementation, so this chapter is intended to make up for this deficiency. The study combines secondary research, review of existing research, comparatives, and practical case studies to explore the usage of green financial instruments for financing the Blue Economy. Data were analyzed, and the study-case methodology was used to present examples for in-depth investigation. Visualization methods (charts, tables, schemes) were used for better understanding. The findings present the revolutionary role of FinTech solutions by using advanced technology for targeted actions. Well-structured financial, green instruments combined with advanced technology are effective and efficient in fighting for sustainability. Identified solutions may serve good examples for subsequent implementations. Practical implications are important for entities such as policymakers, financial institutions, technology developers, and businesses engaged in the Blue Economy. The need for Fintech services for oceans and seas is growing. Implications go in regulatory frameworks, adoption and scaling, education, sustainable practices, and long-term perspective directions.
