In this chapter, we analyze General Social Survey (GSS) data to examine 1) whether the presence of a Roman Catholic candidate for vice president affects individual vote decisions in presidential elections and 2) whether the relationship between Catholic vice-presidential candidates and vote choice has changed over time. Additionally, using Public Religion Research Institute’s (PRRI) 2024 American Values Survey data, we provide a preliminary analysis of support for JD Vance among different sets of religious voters.
