Managing Human Capital During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Global Perspective

COVID-19 pandemic undoubtedly disrupted the economy of every nation. This book delves deeper into understanding how different countries navigated in different ways to manage and uplift their human capital. Despite the chaos, governments sprung to their feet and managed to control the situation in best ways possible. Government funding was used to secure and support corporates, unemployed and job seekers, hospitals managing huge influx of affected patients etc. Also, the World Bank played an important role in diverting funds to economies which couldn’t support themselves such as African countries. This introductory chapter provides an overall picture of how the world navigated through the pandemic and a framework has been developed showing the comparison of human capital challenges pre-, during, and post-COVID-19 pandemic.
