Donald Trump’s path to victory differed in each state. In Michigan, Kamala Harris lost primarily due to diminished Democratic support in and around Detroit, while Trump significantly improved his standing among core Democratic supporters, such as Latinos and young voters. Razor thin margins have become the norm in Wisconsin, where high economic dissatisfaction and a widespread but modest shift throughout the state narrowly propelled Trump to victory.
