How Concern with Government Overregulation and Racial Animus Reshaped the Republican Party and Fueled Trump’s Electoral Appeal
摘要
This chapter examines how Donald Trump and the Republican Party have increasingly benefited electorally from racial animus and concern with government overregulation since the Obama presidency. The analysis generates new insights by using behavioral measures of racial animus and concern with overregulation. The chapter concludes with alternate and constructive strategies that the Republican and Democratic Parties can employ to benefit electorally.
