As I have already argued in my previous work, everything in Sade converges on the pregenital stages: his phantasmatics, his aesthetics and even his sense of the comic. In this new study of Kleinian criticism, I investigate the infant’s perception of his mother’s “monstrous body”. In this teratology of the mother’s body, I will examine, among other things, the erogenous organs targeted by Sadean pregenital fantasies. The perversity of mothers can be just as monstrous. After addressing the cases of Kemper and Gein, serial killers who fell victim to the psychic cruelties of their mothers, I conclude this study with two extreme instances of maternal monstrosity: necrophilic incest and infanticide.
