This study intends to investigate in what way integrating a constructivist approach with artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions impacts the sustainability of engineering course design from the perspectives of university faculty at a higher education institution in the Northeastern part of the Sultanate of Oman. The study is based on the assumption that integrating a constructivist approach with artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions impacts the sustainability of engineering course design. The interpretivism philosophy serves as the foundation for the study’s research design. A qualitative case study approach was used for data collection using interviews administered to 8 male and female university faculty members. The interview includes 12 questions highlighting viable quotes that validate qualitative results. Thematic analysis is used to identify the frequency occurrence of words and phrases that reflect the way in which integrating a constructivist approach with artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions impacts the sustainability of engineering course design. The findings suggest that integrating a constructivist approach with artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions positively impacts the sustainability of engineering course design. However, the sample is taken from one case study in a limited geographical area in Oman, the study opens a new horizon of research to validate the results in similar locations. The study provides insights via participants who voiced their opinions on how integrating a constructivist approach with artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions impacts the sustainability of engineering course design in Oman. The insights gained from this study are helpful for HEI policymakers in Oman.
