Exploring Dietitians’ Attitudes Towards Remote Work Models Qualitative Study: The Case of Oman
摘要
The study aims to explore attitudes- from the perspective of dietitians in Oman- towards remote work models, perceived usefulness, ease of use, and barriers encountered to address them through the development of strategic management initiatives. The study is based on the assumption that dietitians’ positive attitudes enhance the adoption of remote work models in the context of dietetics. Methodology: An exploratory interpretive philosophy underpins the study’s research design. This study employs a qualitative case study approach, using a semi-structured questionnaire administered to 12 male and female dietitians working in healthcare institutions. A thematic analysis is applied to identify the key themes to the understanding of attitudes to remote work technologies among the participants. Findings: The findings suggest that dietitians’ have positive attitudes toward adopting remote work technologies as they improve patient care and dietetics efficiency. The results also reveal the importance of addressing challenges at the individual and organizational levels. This study deepens our understanding of dietitians’ attitudes and highlights the complexity of adopting technologies. Significance: The study provides insights, and a thorough understanding of dietitians’ views and experiences suggesting a clear positive trend towards remote work technologies within the dietetics context. Thus, realizing the potential of such technologies should be accompanied by a full supporting system at different levels where hybrid models can be established combining contemporary and traditional practices.
