Advancing Workforce Performance Through Digital Transformation: The Case of Oman
摘要
The purpose of the study is to explore—from the perspectives of the workforce at the Network and Programming Departments of the case organization in the Sultanate of Oman—the scope to which leadership, employee engagement, communication, and training enhance employee performance and factors that influence an organization’s perception. The study is constructed on the assumption that multiple aspects contribute to improving employee performance. Methodology—A pragmatic philosophy supports the study’s research process. A qualitative case study approach including interviews performed with 12 managers and head sections at the studied organization was used in data collection. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the qualitative variables. Findings suggest that integrating Artificial Intelligence with leadership, employee involvement, communication, and training improves employee performance. Although the sample was taken from one geographical area in Oman, which may risk the generalizability of the findings, the study opens a new potential for research in organizational performance. Recommendation: the case organization can enhance employee performance by adopting artificial intelligence (AI) while implementing digital transformation. The organization can improve employee performance, increase employee involvement, enhance proper communication, and provide the required skills and knowledge by adopting AI tools.
