Leveraging Constructivist Pedagogical Strategies for Lean Management Training in Engineering and Contracting Sector: A Qualitative Case Study of Oman

Background: The aim of this paper is to explore how the integration of PBL/AI-based platform into the Lean Management training will lead to improved efficiency in Oman’s Engineering and Contracting Industry. It examines how Digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and VLEs are bringing solutions to the training challenges, resource planning and in support of the SDGs. It also analyses the role of leadership dedication, culture fit and employee involvement in Lean Management performance. Design/methodology: The qualitative case study method was used, in-depth cross-divisional interviews. Patterns related to operational inefficiencies, training gaps, and digital tool use were identified through thematic analysis. They were matched to organization reports and other sources such as Oman Vision 2040 and regulatory reports from the government. Results: The implementation of PBL and AI platforms in training can enhance Lean Management activities, which lead to practical learning, real-time feedback and continual improvement. Leadership commitment, adherence to the national vision and employee participation are essential to successful implementation. Although the research has been done on one company in Oman, it can be used for a wider scope in industry related areas. Practical Uses: The study suggests integrating PBL and AI into Lean Management training to enhance efficiency. The results offer practical recommendations for construction and engineering companies on leadership, training standardization and digital innovation in the light of Oman Vision 2040 and the SDGs.
