Fear of Aversive Consequences Inpatient Case Study (Sally)
摘要
Sally is a 11.5 year old cisgender female who reports generalized anxiety, including fear of choking for the past several years. Her anxiety has worsened in the past 6 months, and she has been on the waitlist for a medication evaluation with Psychiatry for the past 3 months. About 6 weeks ago, she witnessed a friend choke while eating a hot dog. Following that episode, her parents noted that she appeared anxious around food and started having progressively worsening vomiting episodes around mealtime. They are divorced, but communicate frequently. Sally began to increasingly restrict her intake to the point of consuming only a few sips of milk or juice. She denies any body image concerns or weight loss goals.
