The evolution of digital technologies to enable greenhouse gas emissions to become more sustainable across sectors is becoming an increasingly important complement to climate action. This chapter explores the use of digital technologies (i.e. blockchain; artificial intelligence and big data analytics) in aiding climate actions. And, yes, there are case studies and real-world examples to help facilitate discussion of how these technologies might take emissions tracking and management up a notch in terms of transparency, traceability and efficacy. It also addresses challenges and opportunities tied to each of these green digitalization pathways in the context of climate action, seeking to provide a holistic perspective of how digital technologies can fundamentally change the way we approach climate change and our engagement in sustainable development.

摘要
