Net Zero Technology and Smart Agriculture
摘要
With the unremitting global climate change, the global agriculture is facing more unprecedented challenges, so it is essential to adopt climate-smart agriculture (CSA) by combining advanced technologies to obtain high-consciousness, high-resilience, and sustainable agriculture systems. This chapter discusses the convergence of net-zero technology and smart agricultural practices, focusing on various technological complexities including precision farming, smart irrigation, and IoT powered solutions that collectively account for minimizing the impacts of Climate Change on sustainability. In addition, it highlights the necessity of coordination among stakeholders, including policymakers, farmers, and researchers, for such technologies to achieve their potential in favorable institutional settings. By detailing examples across agricultural backgrounds, the chapter illustrates that technology to achieve net-zero emission can transform farming practices and what such large-scale examples mean for national and global climate targets, Academics, researchers, and technologists necessarily turn to the very model whose flaws they aim to fix: they advocate for sustainable agriculture to be integrated into technological approaches to build food systems capable of persisting under the pressures of climate change.
