Concorde: A Dream Takes Off
摘要
The supersonic Concorde aircraft is briefly presented in this Chapter 2. It was designed for commercial use in the 1960s within a British-French collaboration. Construction began with two prototypes, the first taking off and reaching supersonic speeds in 1969. This made possible its utilisation for the observation of the 1973 total solar eclipse. After a bright commercial career, economic conditions led to the abandon of commercial supersonic flights.
