Building Trust and Enhancing Efficiency at the Central Bank
摘要
In the wake of recovery from successive crises, including a civil war, the Ebola outbreak, and the COVID-19 pandemic, Sierra Leone stands at a pivotal juncture. The enactment of the new central bank law in 2019 marked a significant milestone, offering a robust legal foundation for the future. This chapter explores the strides made by the Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL) in fortifying its governance, accountability, and transparency mechanisms. Amidst a backdrop of historical challenges, enhancing the BSL’s operational frameworks is critical for it to fulfil its important role in Sierra Leone’s economic resilience and growth.
