There are numerous studies that have examined students’ experience, perception, and satisfaction with remote learning imposed on institutions to COVID-19 global pandemic. The success of the transformation process depended on the readiness of institutions including technological infrastructure, professional development programs, documentation, and support (technical and pedagogical). Additionally, several factors contribute to the acceptance and satisfaction of the students with the new online experience. In this paper, we present a detailed investigation of the degree of the students’ satisfaction using an advanced statistical approach of selected factors and examine their affect students’ online experience and hence their academic achievement during online education during COVID-19 pandemic. A survey was distributed via email to students across the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. 1300 students responded to the survey, which was designed to identify the factors affecting the students’ satisfaction or perception on hybrid learning model currently implemented at the University. We employed advanced statistical analysis to identify the significance of each factor, and degree by which each factor influences the students’ performance as well as satisfaction as success indicators. The latter was based on selected performance indicators that include teaching and learning attributes, learning management system (LMS), lecture delivery, assessment, engagement, communication, and interaction with instructors. Results showed that students are fairly satisfied with the availability of course materials and communications with instructors. Yet, students highly favored traditional face-to-face (E2F) approach as more convenient than online education in terms of taking exams, and assessment. The study concluded that the hybrid approach, combining online and F2F learning attributes, will be an effective teaching strategy.
