Education is a unique opportunity to confront the climate crisis, and it is necessary to ask how we can prepare undergraduate tourism students for mitigating and adapting to climate change. This study’s aim was to determine how the education of undergraduate tourism students can play a key role in mitigating climate change through tourism entrepreneurship at the local level. The research had a qualitative and applied design, using theoretical and empirical didactic methods. The methodology was supported by developing a learning experience in the subject of tourism and the environment with 66 students enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree in tourism at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez in Mexico between 2021 and 2023. Eighteen nature hotels were proposed by students, incorporating bio-architecture solutions and environmental technologies to promote sustainable tourism development and contribute to minimizing the adverse impacts of climate change. In this activity, the project-based learning approach was implemented. Through their work, the students demonstrated that education is a key factor in climate change mitigation by making innovative proposals with viable solutions for climate change adaptation. These solutions were presented through investigative reports using posters and the manual creation of sustainable models for nature hotels that respond to the challenges induced by changes in temperature and climate patterns.
