This chapter answers the question: “How does hope guide an action in environmental movements?” As given necessary explanations on the interlinked nature of emotions in previous chapters, hope is explained as an integral element of environmental movements that goes together with fear and traumas. Despite rising fear and anxiety, people can remain hopeful about the future. The powerful role of hope is a glue of solidarity and collective action in environmental movements. Emotional narratives of hope are addressed and explained in detail. This chapter ends with a discussion on the impact of hope to create new designs, reforms, and revisions regarding environmental policies and actions. A better future framework is investigated in terms of the role of political figures, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
