This chapter explores educational leadership preparation and development in Catalonia, Spain, from the points of view of 23 people who are directors, teachers, and families of highly complex public schools in Catalonia, Spain, and 12 experts with practical and research experience. The research question for each group was: What areas will be decisive in educational leadership preparation in Spain? The methodology is based on in-depth interviews of practitioners and academic reports requested from experts with practical and research experience. The participants cited four areas that will be crucial for the practice of educational leadership: (1) formation of networks with other schools and with local ecosystem support services; (2) commitment to people’s well-being; (3) professional development of the teaching team; and (4) renewed organizational plans that start from a strategic vision and sustainability of management projects. The chapter concluded with seven areas that could serve as an agenda for 2045.

摘要

Societal change is less predictable and more demanding. It poses especially complex challenges for schools that require a commitment to social justice, especially for school leaders who find themselves at a crossroads.
