In the United States, principal preparation programs are designed to meet the needs of those who aspire to lead schools or districts. Program offerings seek to meet students’ career goals while also addressing the needs of school districts. Over time, programs have been required to evolve, especially post-pandemic. As the needs of stakeholders continue to become more varied and complex, preparation programs must equip leaders with the knowledge and skills to support them. This chapter highlights the University of Georgia’s (UGA) Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and its journey to redesign its leader preparation program. The redesign sought to address current and future leadership challenges through action research. The chapter outlines the process of continuous improvement, guided by Transformative Learning Theory, and its implications for fostering effective leadership.

摘要
