Internationally, several initiatives have been launched to address the ethical and legal challenges posed by neurotechnologies. The United Nations has played a significant role in this area. For example, on March 12, 2020, Dr. Rafael Yuste, president and founder of the Neurorights Foundation, met with the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, to discuss the importance of neurorights. This was followed by the presentation of a proposal on neurotechnology and human rights by the Advisory Committee to the UN Human Rights Council on September 8, 2022.
