The paradox of transformative understanding lies in the quality of the interconnectedness of perceptive and formative creativity. It is paradoxical because no understanding is possible without the transformation of its subject, which means that what was once understood never remains what it was because its understanding subject has transformed. This contribution aims to show which concrete and focused actions of transformation lie within this permanent loop of not understanding and understanding. Proposed to be called pragmas, these are the binding actions between the transformation of understanding and the understanding of transformation. They institute the flow between two realms, the poetics of understanding and the politics of understanding. It is about the moments of development as a crisis in ongoing iteration. It is about an attempt to understand methodical action as research connected by subtle elements of certain uncertainty for understanding both in individual and institutional terms. This reflection is an offer to develop a politics of formation, making the case for it as an idea and method, which only lives from the fact that it can also be understood in different ways.
