The study reveals several crucial attributes for age-friendly environments, including inclusive and accessible public spaces, reliable and affordable public transportation options that cater to the needs of older adults, affordable and adaptable housing solutions with a special focus on the needs of seniors, opportunities for social participation, respect & social inclusion, opportunities for older adults to contribute to the community through volunteering or employment, age-friendly communication methods ensuring easy access to information, comprehensive community support and health services, and enhanced safety and security measures. These findings underscore the necessity for urban planning and policy-making to integrate these attributes to accommodate the growing elderly population, ensuring their well-being and active participation in urban life. By focusing on these key attributes, cities can become more inclusive and supportive of older adults, promoting a higher quality of life and fostering more resilient communities.
