Living in a society free of violence is a right for all children and adolescents, and the responsibility for ensuring this lies with all adults. To achieve this goal, it is first necessary to build the foundations for creating a secure environment, as a safe setting is only possible where there is a culture of respect and care for children. The training and knowledge of professionals working with children and adolescents are fundamental to this culture of respect and care. This chapter presents three training programs that exemplify best practices in various professional fields that work directly with children and adolescents. The EDUCAP Project focuses on the prevention of sexual violence against children in the school environment; the SAVE Project aims at detecting violence against children in school; and the STEPS Project involves preventing secondary victimization in victims of sexual violence in childhood based on the Barnahus model. These are three initiatives implemented in Spain. Evaluations of these programs highlight the importance of training in an effective and evidence-based manner to combat child sexual abuse.
