Introduction
摘要
The introductory chapter to this book seeks to achieve two objectives. The first is to provide an account of how the author’s research interests shifted from sanitation and pit latrines to police studies. The second objective is to use the ease with which this shift was made to establish that what the colonial government did to Ghanaian economic institutions to entrench poverty, it also did to the Ghanaian civil and political space, exemplified here by the police force, in order to entrench dysfunctional governance.
