This concluding chapter brings together the privacy rationale for abortion rights from Chapter 4 with the equality rationale from Chapter 3 . It shows a combined privacy-equality rationale moves us beyond the narrow confines of the mainstream pro-choice movement and offers an expansive framework for the contemporary reproductive justice movement. Drawing on black feminist thought, we see that privacy and equality together effectively illuminate the unique reproductive burdens, beyond simply a lack of legal abortion access, that have confronted and continue to confront poor women and people of color in the United States. Ultimately, I argue that this combined rationale is especially suited to confronting the unique landscape of reproductive unfreedom confronting us in the aftermath of the Dobbs decision overruling Roe v. Wade.
