This chapter draws from the diversity of contributions by the authors of this volume and serves as the conclusion of the book. The chapter begins by providing a historical background to Zimbabwean environmental history which is characterized by marginalization, racism, displacement and environmental injustice caused by colonialism. The chapter shows how production of agro-based and mining raw materials further degraded the environment during the postcolonial period. Basing on the historical background, authors examined several environmental challenges that include food insecurity due to extreme weather conditions, climate change, atmospheric and land pollution. The chapter reconciles moral imperatives as it shows how authors argued for environmental sustainability through diversity and inclusion of marginalized groups such as women, children and the disabled.
