In this chapter, the ecological hermeneutics, particularly the six principles of ecojustice by the Earth Bible project, have been employed to analyse selected New Testament texts that present an anthropocentric view of the environment. The chapter upholds the view that the Bible, especially the New Testament, is still relevant in addressing contemporary issues affecting our world and among them are environmental crises. However, the chapter concluded that the selected texts in question should not be used as normative on environmental ethics, but their value lies in the revelation of Jesus’ divinity. The texts, therefore, fall in the grey category of texts that suppress nature. It is recommended that readers should be warned against using these texts for environmental purposes but for other theological purposes such as the liberation of humanity and faith in Jesus Christ.
