Water scarcity problems around the world are becoming more and more serious over time. Therefore, there is a need for farmers to focus on reducing water consumption, and increasing crop yield and profitability. Modern irrigation methods can significantly improve water use efficiency, crop productivity, and sustainability. In this chapter, various modern irrigation methods and their impacts on water use efficiency, crop production, and net profit for the farmers were investigated. Drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, canter pivot irrigation, bubble irrigation, precision irrigation, mobile irrigation, adjustable deficit irrigation, hydroponics, surface and subsurface irrigation, rainfall harvesting, vertical farming, and intelligent controlled irrigation are some of the modern irrigation methods discussed. These techniques use advanced sensors, real-time data, and automation to optimize water delivery, reduce waste, and tailor irrigation to specific crop needs. In addition, innovative water management practices play a key role in promoting resource-efficient agriculture. As the world faces water scarcity and climate challenges, adopting modern irrigation methods is crucial for sustainable food production and environmental protection.

摘要
