Knowledge Transfer to Stakeholders in Use of Wastewater for Irrigation
摘要
Reuse of treated wastewater has the potential to play a crucial role in the implementation of sustainable water resource management practices within the agricultural sector. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of this technique relies on the acceptance and active involvement of the public, which necessitates a comprehensive study. This chapter provides a comprehensive assessment from the existing literature and published relevant studies pertaining to the uses of waste water technologies and their public acceptance. Additionally, it explores the significance of knowledge in promoting the adoption of these technologies among key stakeholders. The study’s findings illustrate the potential aspects that can enhance awareness and understanding regarding the adoption of wastewater treatment technology and practices in the agriculture sector, as well as how farmers perceive health risks. In addition, we discuss the gender role in this setting and examine the primary instruments used to assess the consequences of risks. This chapter presents policy recommendations to relevant stakeholders based on the research findings.
