This study concentrates on one of the independent variables—parents’ age and the achievement variable and its influence on girls’ participation in the Institute’s activities. Comparisons will be made between the genders in all three examined cohorts: October 1982, October 1993, and October 2003. Some of its exciting results are that despite the comparatively high rate of girls among those diagnosed as gifted in the three youngest age groups, there was still an under-presentation of gifted girls. Under-representation among the youngest boys admitted to the institute in 1982 was even more extreme.
